Original works of art, based on places I’ve visited, creatures I’ve met, and things I love. Most represent my deep appreciation of the natural world and my constant desire to be part of it.
I am an artist, art educator, and art director. I spent 20 years as a scenic exhibit artist & art director, creating sets, props & figures for museums, science centers, them parks and attractions around the world. During that time, I also directed a local arts council, and taught art classes throughout Northwest Ohio. One of my greatest accomplishments, was developing and managing Bittersweet Creative Arts, where I directed therapeutic, educational, and vocational art programs for more than 100 people with Autism.
I work in graphite, colored pencil, alcohol inks, soft pastel, oil pastel, watercolor, gouache, acrylic & oils. I also work in clay, natural materials and fiber. I use the medium that best suits the environment, and the desired result.
I have a deep appreciation of the Natural world. I spend most of my free time outdoors. I love being in the wild, exploring the sights, sounds, and smells of the various places I visit. My artwork is inspired by these experiences. It represents the memories I have gathered on my journeys.
